Pianist Vladimir Shafranov's artfully illustrated dog covers in the Venus Records program make the viewer smile; but the fact that the title 'Blues For Percy' is dedicated to his beloved dog gives the illustration as well as the song a deeper level. In addition to this original composition, great standards such as the lively 'Groovy Samba' by Sergio Mendes and the poetic 'Scandia Skies' by Kenny Dorham are played.
