Pure Audiophile Records newest release is PA-010 "Full Steam Ahead" by The Monty Alexander Trio.<br /><br /> It features Monty Alexander, one of the most distinctive and exhilarating pianists in Jazz, Frank Gant on drums, and the incomparable Ray Brown on bass.<br /><br /> At the age of 6, Alexander took his first piano lessons in Kingston, Jamaica, where he was born and raised. In 1961 Alexander came to the US where he accompanied many well-known performers such as Frank Sinatra, Milt Jackson, Dizzy Gillespie, Clark Terry, Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, etc.<br /><br /> "Full Steam Ahead" was originally released by Concord Records in 1984 and features the following tracks:<br /><br /> "Just Friends", "I Can't Get No Satisfaction", "Estate", "Ray's Idea", "Freddie Freeloader", etc. Three excellent bonus tracks from "Triple Treat 2 & 3" were added: "Straighten Up And Fly Right", "High Heeled Sneakers", and "Renewal".<br /><br /> Don't miss this limited edition 2006 release of this classic recording. It was half-speed mastered by Stan Ricker from the original analog master tapes, and pressed at R.T.I. on HQ-180 gram black vinyl. These individually numbered 2-LP sets are housed in gatefold jackets with deluxe anti-static inner sleeves.
