<p>Lotte Lehmann was one of the best loved sopranos of the 20th century. Having enjoyed enormous success in the operatic world, she relinquished her stage rôles during the twilight years of her career and concentrated upon <i>Lieder</i> and art songs. This final volume of her <i>Lieder</i> recordings made in America features all of the commercial recordings made at the end of her career. It includes her expressive rendition of Brahms's <i>Zigeunerlieder</i>, as well as Lieder by Schubert, Brahms and Richard Strauss. Also included are songs by Henri Duparc and Reynaldo Hahn, two Christmas songs (<i>Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht</i> (<i>Silent Night</i>) and <i>O Come All Ye Faithful</i>) and the popular <i>God Bless America</i> and <i>The Kerry Dance</i>. All bear the inimitable Lehmann stamp of spontaneity and ability to communicate as much through the texts as through the music.</p>Eser Listesi
