<p>Gaspard Le Roux belongs to the very first rank of <i>clavecinistes</i> of the seventeenth century, on a par with Louis Couperin. For sustained invention, refinement of ornamentation and profundity of expression, <i>Le Roux's Pièces de clavecin</i> demonstrate that he had few equals. The impressively virtuosic <i>Sarabande en 12 couplets</i> (Track 40) concludes with an almost impressionistic variation, suggestive of moonlight sparkling on water flowing from a Moorish fountain.</p>Eser Listesi
