The third studio album of the Latin rock band Santana is also the last one with the legendary Woodstock band with Carlos Santana, organist Gregg Rolie, drummer Michael Schrieve, bassist David Brown and conga player Michael Carabello. New additions are young guitar virtuoso Neal Schon, who was discovered by band members at the age of 15 in a club in Palo Alto, and percussionist Thomas 'Coke' Escovedo, who represented the ailing Chepito Areas. The three-headed percussion team with cymbals, congas, drums, tambourine, vibraphone and the new discovery Schon fit perfectly into the existing band. Santana III (also known as The Third Album) is musical chemistry with a perfect ending, which is unjustly overshadowed by its predecessor Abraxas.
